dealer scratched my car

It's a good thing they walk around before I leave it to them because they mark down all the flaws... there were none. I had it in to check suspension and got a program update... they tell me it's all done and the car's out front... I go out and do a walk-around... wtf... right down to the aero kit.

The SA tells me it can be sanded/buffed out, but I see a little crack there in pic3. Pic4 shows what the impact did - should I be more concerned than just aesthetics? I have an appointment 1.5 weeks from now to leave it with them for 2-3 days.

What do you guys think? Can it be buffed professionally and not need to be replaced? The crack isn't all that appealing.

They need to replace the bumper--too much damage-- that can't be buffed and repainted.

Same thing happened to me when I went to the dealership.

Never the less I choose not to bring my car back to them, I dont trust dealerships. I figured I bought my car there they would take good care of it, but damn was I wrong.

I feel for you. My sunroof broke at delivery, they took the car in the back to fix and it came out with a big scratch in the black part of the bumper. I hadn't even driven it!!!!

Looks like yours needs to be replaced. Ask them to see the old parts too!!

gosh that sucks! I "think" it can be repaired. You'd be surprised what bondo can do. BUT you need to send a clear message -- that if they can't make it look 100% like it was before, then you will need a new bumper.
I remember they gouged you on the aerokit when you had them install, so it's payback time.
Also the imapct looked pretty big that the bumper is now misaligned. Make sure you have it in writing too that it need so be perfectly aligned to the original state.
Would hurt to throw in the verbiage that to add in 1 year warrantee until after winter since plastic do flex and contract and expand -- to make sure paint down't crack when the plastic flexes. Good luck!

sorry to hear about it, good luck with the repair.

whats even more disturbing is that you had to find it yourself, (dent happened same way to me) and they don't even tell you (at a dealer no less), like whoever did it didn't know....

I think dealers do a terrible job of taking care of cars, which you would think would be in there best interest, I mean if they took care of my car as much as I hear about the rating 1-5 servey after every appoitment we'd be golden

A good custom body shop could probably fix it. Although it won't be 100% and only you will know it's still there. Replacement is the only 100% solution. That panel is a composite and is all one piece including front quarter. I would imagine it's not cheap.

I had a similar problem (dealer make a dent on the door) on my E350 before. I found out right away when I walk around the car and they fixed it for me. You cannot really trust anyone who drive your car. Good thing you did was found out before you drive off the lot.
