i got the very same msg. I kept popping out and re-inserting the DVD until it finally worked... at first i thought it was a bad DVD and made copies... that worked for about a month then the problem came back...
trust me, swap it out if you can... force them... it's a bad drive.

I completely agree i had the same problem on my e70 4.8 with sat nav disc error the dealership changed the hard drive and it its been fine since but then a few weeks later the gps failed an the sat nav went off route and they then replced the fin ariel on roof and its been good since
