Quick question on new specs: the press release indicated a new nav system using a hard drive. Is this the spec on the 2010 X5 in the US? Or is that some premium option only available in Europe? The press release is unclear. The nav in my X3 really sucks, and I would prefer to know that it has been updated not only technologically but in quality. The Japanese are far better at this it seems to me. Thanks!

Is all new on 2010 X5s in US - reason I waited for 2010. You can check it out if you go to a dealer and ask to see a 2010 5 series, its the same unit. It has a HD and you can upload music to it for example from the DVD player or your iPod.

Or... go to the BMW Usa website and download the 2010 X5 Owners Manual, it describes all the capabilities in detail.

The new nav is also on 2009+ 3ers. The nav in X3s is horrible (I had a 2005 X3). The 2011 X3 will get the new iDrive system.

I just ordered a new diesel X5. I got the $4500 off from BMW USA, plus negotiated 4.25% off of MSRP. Is this a good deal? Should I go to some other dealerships and see if I can get a better deal? The dealer I'm dealing with say that they have a 6% margin and that 4.25% off of MSRP is pretty much unheard of for the 3.5d, given its popularity and that it's a new model. Are they BSing me?

Total MSRP was $75K, so with the 4.25% off and $4500 from BMW plus the tax credit of $900 it worked out to about $8,500 off.

Just wondering if you experts out there can give me any advice. The vehicle looks like it's gonna be sweet!

I might be old-fashioned, but if you ordered a vehicle from a dealer, it's time to stop checking with other dealers for a better deal.

I agree with Penguin, but for the future and I know this has been said in numerous places on the board you should be negotiating from invoice prices which are readily and accurately available on the boards as well as Edmunds.com.

For your own reference, our MSRP was roughly $75,000. Our deal was $500 over invoice. In the end we ended up paying a tad over $72k which included 7% NJ sales tax, tags, title, AND adding the extended maintenance to 6/100k.
