I'll bet a lot of dealers regret those "$500 over invoice" deals they did in August (I didn't get one of those, I did a $1,200 deal)
Yeah. All the dealers I talked to won't budge from MSRP (for Priority 1) cars. They will only pass on the $4500 eco credit. But that's it.

Cruised into the German BMW site - their car "Konfigurator" has the 10 Edition Package available so you get to see Sophisto Grey on...plus all their other cool models.

Offtopic - they had links for the ActiveHybrids too. (X6 and 7 series)

I thought I read somewhere that BMW is considering reducing the premium on the 35d to get sales moving. The eco credit deadline and corresponding sales increase seems to make the point that consumers are not prepared to pay a $4,000 premium to drive a diesel. Especially given that the cost of diesel fuel is a wild card.

2010 production this fall getting FACELIFT ?

Have a early 2010 diesel on order- but while I have received confirmation that the latest iDrive will be included- seems to be confusion regarding the upcoming facelift (as noted here: Spy Shots: 2010 BMW X5 Facelift - MotorAuthority

I know the new rail injection, higher hp diesel is not until later- but does anyone know about the facelift?

I'm thinking of a 6 month lease on something else and waiting 'till Spring for both the new diesel and the facelift. I'd skip the new diesel- but c'mon- how are they going to introduce the 2010 model this fall and NOT do the facelift until later as a 2010?

Anybody know DEFINETively ?

marc

Hello All, New to the Board but have appreciated all the comments and information. My daily driver and dedicated "road trip" vehicle is a Black / Black 2000 X5 4.4. I am strongly considering replacing this with the diesel version but am concerned it may not perform as well in highway passing situations (trade off is the mileage)? I love the power the V-8 has when asked to "pass". Anyone on the Board have a chance to really compare the power and performance at highway speeds when attempting to overtake the three or four vehicles towing trailers and assorted big rigs that always seem to be in the way?
Appreciate any information.
