OK, I'm really dissapointed. I thought for sure the 2010 models would have the twin turbo 6 & 8 engines. Why is BMW insisting on using the outdated 4.8i engine? Now I don't know what I'm going to replace my 4.8i with when my lease is up in February 2010.

Ah. Rearview w/ top view! So envious. I wonder if the HUD gets the tach now too.. probably saved only for M models.

No more Sport Package?!!!
So, you can't order the normal sport package any more? The "sport activity package" strips out the sport suspension and electronic damping control. Is the sport suspension standard otherwise? I guess the only way around it would be to order the package and then add the Adaptive Drive. You can also add the M package, but I don't like the body kit nor is it available on the diesel, which is what I'm interested in.
We'll see how it sorts out. |

Anyone have details on the 2009 --> 2010 changes? Typically BMW issues a document for salespeople that details the changes... it may be called a "sales guide" or something like that.
I am getting close to biting on a 2010 diesel now that it appears the $4,500 incentive apples to 2010 models ordered by August 31; however, I would like to know if the new, or at least partially new, i-drive is going to be in the 2010 model from Job #1. In the past I bought a 2004 Z4 that was made in the first week of 2004 production, only to find out later that the first month or two of 2004 production used older parts and could not be upgraded to bluetooth without replacing modules.I'd hate to order a 2010 model only to find-out that they aren't updating the i-drive until later in the year as a mid-year change. |

First on the list was the new I-Drive and yes it will be in the X5 at the start of production in September. Also grey interior is no longer an option. Rear camera now has top view. Automatic high beams is now an option. HD Radio is now standard. Sat Radio & one year is down to $350. Adaptive drive is now a seperate option and not part of the Sport Package. That's all I can remember right now.... |

@!#$$#@# I was thinking of the metallic red with a gray interior as a first choice of color. What does anyone think of a tobacco interior with a platinum Bronze exterior? I have mixed feelings on the Tobacco, liking its uniqueness, but wondering (a) if I would like it long term and (b) if it would go with the Bronze. Metallic red with the Sand interior would look nice (My Z4 is red/sand), but since I tend to keep my vehicles ten years, I try to avoid light interiors as they are a pain to keep clean over the years.
