My wife picked hers up on Friday and loves it so far. The combination of fuel efficiency, power, and utility is completely unmatched in anything else out there. The fact that they are so heavily discounted right now plus the tax credit only sweetened the deal. One of the dealers in town had a special sales event Saturday and they were offering well-optioned X35Ds for $10K off MSRP (sticker of $59K, selling price of $49K).

I love mine.. LOVE the engine with its torque! It's faster off the line than the 4.8 (up to about 50 MPH or so). On top of that you get 19-26 MPG and you're doing the planet a favor, relatively speaking. Just make sure you get the sport package for handling.

Picked mine up on Friday and it is amazing. Lots of interior room, crazy torque, great gas mileage. You get 8 cylinder power with 6 cylinder fuel economy. I was coming from a Hemi Grand Cherokee which had great power, but terrrible gas mileage. You could see the gas gauge move while you were driving. The X5 gives me the best of both worlds.

Love mine! About 3,600 miles on it so far. Power is great and the car feels so substantial and smooth. Been getting about 23/24 mpg in combined driving.

oooh ... I think I win. I've had mine just over 3 months, and has already got 10K miles on it. It just had its oil change.

I carry alot of heavy stuff with a 4 people going up mountain roads. Endless torque and no problems. The 3.0 would be struggling with that load, and the 4.8 and M wouldn't have any issues but would be drinking the fuel.

The diesel is the compromise. A little diesel clatter when you have the windows down in the summer time ... but I actually like the noise of diesel engines so its not a issue.

Same here, no problems to report and I've had mine since Jan 2nd. I really like mine and the mileage is decent for this size vehicle.

Fantastic ride. We've had ours for about 4k miles and it's been great. Better fuel economy than the 3.0 with acceleration closer to the 4.8. A win-win IMO.

The diesel clatter doesn't annoy me because we previously had a VW Golf TDI and Jetta TDI. The X5 is the replacement for the Golf... can't wait to replace the Jetta in a few years.
