New E70 on order
My local BMW dealer was the first dealer I approached about buying this vehicle, and I really wanted to buy the vehicle locally. The local dealer wasn't serious about ordering a X5 and padded the price with as many B.S. charges as possible (compulsory paint protection package, nitrogen in tires package, etched glass package, etc.). He was willing to remove some but not all of these surcharges. Plus he has markup on MF, acquisition fee, etc. Needless to day, he was quickly out of the competition. In fact he got a little testy when I mentioned that he was in competition with dealers out of the area. The deal I am getting is about $1500 above invoice, and paying a $200 training fee, but no MACO. It will be a leased vehicle at the buy rate minus the owner loyalty credit. No markup on the MF or acquisition fee. I might have done better, but I feel that the price is about the best I could do with out sinking a lot more time into negotiations. There comes a point where my time is valuable too. I tried to negotiate with a few dealers out of the area including one that is known for performance center deliveries. The guy known for PCD wasn't willing to negotiate at all. It was an embarrassment for him and for the people who recommended him. I am looking forward to my true sport E70. I had an E53 V8, but when gas hit $5/gallon in my area, I promptly got rid of it. Hopefully I'll post pics in a month or two. Thank you. |

congrats. Usually if you ask directly for the internet marketing dept at each dealer they can tell you "X over invoice" without much hassle. They know you're shopping around prices if you contact them and many will get right down to it. I don't know if doing PCD will really affect their willingness to deal...

How about you are paying 1200 over cost with 300 for maco?!? Claiming that you dont pay maco does a disservice to other buyers in their negotiations... IMO Enjoy the PCD! A |

What you say is true. It is all relative. However the selling dealer claims to be in a region that does not pay MACO. Thus they don't pass that fee along to the consumer. The Chicago and Atlanta dealers with whom I dealt listed MACO in their proposals and expected me to pay it.

Congrats on the order. I know you'll enjoy the PCD.
I agree that negotiating to the last dollar can be more trouble and time consuming then its worth.
