Does the Weathertech film have a relief cut for the recess on the headlights? The Lamin-X ones don't, which I like, but with the orange peel look makes that a moot point. A local detailer was going to install another brand but it has a relief cut for that dip/recess in the lights.
Yes, the Weathertech versions have a releif cut and were extremely easy to install and did them myself with some soapy water. Follow the directions and they'll come out great. I'll see if I can snap a picture later today and post it up.

Was able to snap a few pics, and you really can't see them, but you'll see the line for the relief cut. Car is dirty as the pollen here is hell now.

Much appreciated Dave. Will order a set of those. Much nicer than the Lamin-X kit. Very nice X too. Love the color. We are also feeling the pollen blooms over here. My California dusters get a workout. I keep one in each vehicle.

I was considering the different options for protection and I'll definitely look into Weathertech.

Thanks!

Thanks and you'll love the weathertech covers as they are very forgiving and easy to work with. Take your time and keep it wet so you can slowly work the bubbles out. One thing to note is it will be hazy and you'll have some tiny bubbles left, but as the instructions say it'll clear up and work out as it dries over a day or so. FYI - Here's a pic of my car and I was floored to find out how rare the Melbourne Metallic (red) color was on the M's. Only 120 built during the E70 series worldwide

I polished my headlights about 18mos ago and after UV protectant, installed lamin-x as well. I'm happy with the result and they look very clear to me.

You see the orange peel look? It bothers me to no end. It causes those reflections that look like water inside the headlight as well. My wife's looks just like yours so it must be a Lamin-X thing. I'm sure it doesn't bother 99% of their buyers. My E53 has Xpel film on it and has none of that. I was going to post a picture to illustrate, but yours looks pretty much just like mine after polishing and applying the film.

Bought a '17 F15 diesel with 25k km. N57 is close enough to M57 that I don't have to learn a whole new ecosystem.

Don't like dull steering on the F15 compared to E70, but 10 years is a long time to own a car
