Anytime! I personally prefer all of my vehicles to be lowered. Sometimes it's substantial - like with my M3's - and sometimes it's modest, as with the X5. I felt like the 2" H&R kit was a bit too much for what I wanted out of this vehicle (..and it didn't align with the look that I'm striving for; the 2" drop makes the truck look too nose heavy). As per another thread, the 2" springs settled at more than a 2.5" drop; the 1.2" drop settles around 1.5". The latter was much more in line with what I wanted (..Skunk's X5 was perfect reference material, as was the individual who posted the thread in which he began with 2" springs and moved to the 1.2")...an even drop all the way around, with some fender gap, but minimized. As for the ride, it truly is like a stock ride UNTIL you push it around corners. It is then that you realize the handling improvement. It is very noticeable. You will love the drop on spacers Sue.

Yeah he is. He's going to fiddle around and see if he can get it to work. He told me that the reason why there isn't a Stage 2 available now is due to the lack of X's venturing into his shop to speed up development. I'll be the guinea pig; he's about 45 minutes away from me. Hopefully he's successful, otherwise I'll be stuck with the Stage 1 until he had fiddled enough to get it to work.

Update:

My X5M parts are in, and I'll be picking them up this weekend. It looks like my X may be in the shop as soon as next Wed/Thurs, and the turn around time is about a week. Exciting!!!!!!

Please keep me updated about the tune, I was set on the dinan stage 2, but if BMS comes out with the stage 2 for the x5 I would prefer that. Also heard from Terry he will be releasing a intake as well!

Super interested in the X5M bumper conversion. I was seriously looking into doing that myself.

I don't think any cutting is necessary, you just get the front M fender flares and the M bumper, and it should come together. The only reason I backed-off from doing it was my body shop guy was saying we likely needed all the M ducts, bumper support, etc. Price with parts and labor was going to be about $4,500.

But again, it may be a lot easier than he thought and you may not need all the parts he listed on my estimate.

Some other guy did this conversion in England.

$4,500...yikes! That's steep! I've currently spent about $1,300 in parts between the front bumper (..w/ grills) and the two fender flares. I'm assuming that paint/custom work won't cost me more than $600 at the high end (..my body shop guy has performed more extensive repair work and painting for me in the past for less money, so this should be cheaper), and providing that no other major parts are needed, this will be $2k well spent.
