They dont do a real PPI. They just patch up the car and hope it doesnt die for a few months until you go away. Now, like some abuse victim, they sold you a lemon and for $240 you are thankful they agreed to help fix it.

In the future, GET A INSPECTION by "not the seller" and by "a good, qualified mechanic". Who knows what else they might have found had you had a real inspection done. Transmission good? Fluid changed?

That would be too simple, easy to diagnose, and cheap. BMW instead made the fan variable speed and it's a PWM signal going to the fan. with speed control electronics in the fan that sits in that high temp hell. I suppose they could have put a scope on the wire, but it's likely if they had the brains to do that, they wouldn't have had to.

Haha yeah most techs probably don't carry a fluke scope-meter in their pocket, it's probably to much work to wheel over the diag station.

Purchased an '13 X6 M yesterday My wife sold her M3 to her brother and instead of getting another car she took my Tesla.

We're getting rid of the Ferrari soon by the way....so you don't have to be jealous anymore

I don't think BMW ever made an X3M, perhaps you meant X5M or X3 with M sport package?

Truthfully I thought it was an X3M I will have to look when I get home tonight, your probably right though it has ///M door sills at least :P. Is there an easy way to tell if it is an X3M or just an x3 with M Package?
