I still have some hope for Hofmeister Kink.
Looking at pictures of interior and exterior, I did not see the line rise (in the ugly way of X3).
I have looked at my E70 from the same angle as the pictures show inside of the 3rd row window, and they look identical.
So, I keep my fingers crossed for back windows looking similar to e70.

I'm guessing it is 4-5" longer to 195-196"

I did some very un-scientific measurements of the X15 5.0 above with an E70 5.0.

Based on the distance of the fuel-filler door to the back edge of each car leads me to think there is about a 4-5" increase in overall length of the X15.

Using the photo of the "build your own X5" and comparing the photo with the actual specs of the car gets me to an approximate 1/20 scale.

Then, zooming on the photo of the X15 above so that it approximates the size of the E70, the distance between the fuel filler door is approximately 1/4" longer in the photo of the X15. Multiplying that 1/4" by 20 gets 5" in additional length, all of which appears to be behind the rear wheel well.

Again, completely unscientific but there does seem to be a little more "car" behind the back wheel well on the X15 than on the E70.

Could be camouflage but my guess is an extra 4-5" of rear space.

LeMans - any thoughts on my guess?

That's probably in the range.

Since X3 has grown in size to almost E53 X5 size, BMW is positioning this as M-B GL competition and further differentiate between X3 and X5.
X3 grew up in size to make room for X1.

Some X5 owners will be moving to X3 in future.
X3 sales are on the rise and for the first two weeks 2012 BMW made more X3s than X5s in Spartanburg.
X3 - 5752 units
X5 - 4152 units
X6 - 1794 units

Dunno, the camo is making it look pretty generic, like the new X3....... maybe when it comes off it will look better, if not I am getting the LR4 next............

Go back and look at any other model with that type of camo. It hides the real contours pretty well. The E70 and E71 had fiberglass cover camo before the reveal, not this stuff. Remember how generic the F25 looked?

Back to kink discussion. Here are decamoed F15 kink pics and X1 and X3 kink for reference. My guess is the F15 kink will be more like X1 kink. Either way it will definitely have a kink different than E70 X5 kink, per my sources.

X1 style kink

E70 style kink

Thanks for the analysis. However, I still think F15 will have E70-style kink.
In both x3 and x1, the kink starts on the door. Here on F15, there are all indications that the kink will be E70-style (which I hope it will).

To support my statement that windows line in F15 doesn't rise X3-style, here is the picture that shows inside. Straight line E70-style.
