Boston X5 4.4 is on a distinguished road
Overall driving experience seems very positive with few major negatives. Seems like most of the negative reviews are related to the practicality or lack thereof of the X6. If gas mileage, practicality, and window pillar trim ( )is a big part of the car buying decision process it seems like the X6 should be crossed off the list.

So far so good IMHO and I am still looking forward to getting behind the wheel for a test drive

Will I be willing to shell out $80+ for this is a whole other question.

BostonX5, I'm w/ you! I'm still sold on the car, sans all the general neg reviews.I still need to drive it,which I will.I'm still digesting all the reviews.I was always leaning toward the 35i w/ the Sport Package.Sounds like a lot of the reviewers liked the TTI6 better than the TTV8 (short of that awesome V8 roar)!!! because the TTI6 weights less and apparently you don't give up much in road handling,i.e fun quotient.EVERYONE,including most of the Forums I follow, continue to compare the X6 to the X5.I guess that comparison was inevitable given the cars shared DNA.You continue to hear comments about less utility w/ the X6 so why buy it over the X5.I think targeted customers for the X6 (Me) aren't making the X6-X5 comparison. The current X5 owners or potential X5 owners were probably the "swing" or "crossover" buyers in BMW's marketing plans. Not the "core" potential X6 customers like me who eliminated the X5 from consideration ( again no offense to X5 owners) because to me the X5 is just a little to "trucky" for me and I don't need the "utility" that the X5 has.I like the "look" of the X6 which is a big "hotbutton" for me vs the look of the X5.I think the "Look" of the X6 plays huge into BMW's marketing plan for the X6.I guess the X6 cash register will foretell the final ending of this story.Thanks. PalBay
