#1 Make sure you turn "ON" the Bluetooth on your Treo 650. Also make sure you phone is "on" before you even start the car.
Make sure you start with a few favorites (like 10 favorites). NO EXTRA DIGITS or Pauses and NO phone numbers starting with "1" like 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx. You can enter the phone number with the area code without a "1" in front of it like this "xxx-xxx-xxxx". I have the BT/Assist module -114 and the VZW 650 pairs fine with it and the I have about 30 favorites phone number that transfers. Quote:

Verizon and PalmOne stink.

by Visteon and the new one which I have made by motorola IBUS. My phone goes into a reset over and over while loading the contacts. I did try the sprint (don't care for sprint) but it worked and it is also a CDMA phone, which is why I can't understand why Verizon doen't have a patch. I have heard that it is because of DUN a part of bluetooth on the Treo 650 that Verizon does not want to give away for free, and that is the hold up. Its a big rip off as far as I am concerned. |

Wait a second. I have a M3 with newer Motorola BT/Assist module and my VZW Treo 650 works well with it. In fact, I'll take a picture of it tonight and upload it.
Please see my above post re: avoiding reset loop. Quote:

X3 Verizon Treo 650
So Kewl X5,
I have a 2005 X3 with BT/ Assist. From what I've read of your postings about getting a Verizon Treo 650 to work with various models, it should work with my X3? As long as I follow your suggestions as posted above. |

Yes, it should work on your X3 as well.

Dear Kewl
How can one find out which BT/assist module is in the car? I have a 2005 x5 that was manufactured in late January '05. And...does it make a difference which module is in the car? (BTW, my bluetooth works very well with a Motorola v661 from Cingular, but I want/need a phone/pda for my Verizon acct.) |

FWIW, my Unlocked Treo 650 running firmware 1.28 and Software Treo650-1.13-ROW paired with my '06 X5 and also transferred the phonebook.
Initially I would get the reset loops too, and I solved the problem by ensuring there were no "extra digits" in the favorites numbers (i.e., extra digits required for voicemail access or answering machine access). After taking those out - it worked fine. The only thing I am unable to get to work is the R/T switch. When I press it, I get a message that tells me to contact the service center (??). My X5 is only about four days old, so I'll be taking it back in to see what that's all about soon... |

I went to a local Verizon store. They took one of their Treo 650's out to my car (2005 X5) and tried to get it to pair. No luck. The phone kept turning off, or some such. I have tried, thus far unsuccessfully, to find someone at Verizon or Palm to tell me if/when a patch for the Verizon Treo will be out. If anyone has info on that, it would be greatly appreciated. Oh...and a correction to my earlier post. I have the Motorola v551 (not 661!!!) from Congular, and that works fine, altho just recently it has occasionally failed to pair when I get in the car. Then I have to remove the phone battery and re-install it to restore pairing.
