Angry Eject Box Wiring

I am hopeing you will be able to help me I have a UK 2004 X3 which does not have bluetooth prewired. I to have a Nokia kit which works fine but have also purchased a cradle and eject box for the centre armrest. The eject box has four wires, in a 18 block connector pin 1 Green pairing, 2 Brown Neg ground, 13 White cradel on, 5 Red 12volt supply. (This information has been found on this forum. I have tempory connected the red and brown up to the cigar lighter but it does not charge the phone do I have to link 13 to 5? and would I be able to connect up to the wires on the 6CD changer that is in the armrest. I know this is a old thread and hope you still are a member.
Regards, michael i

The cradle will not charge by using the GND and +12v alone mate, it must also have the Cradle_on (from the ULF) connected too.

Do not connect the white to anything other than pin 11 on a ULF (so dont connect to power or gnd), cradle_on is a control wire not a power/gnd wire.

Unhappy Eject Box

Thank you for your quick reply I just hope that I have not damaged my eject box and cradle by trying the red and brown wires on the cigar lighter connectors. Perhaps when you have time you can let me know.
Being a OAP I will now start saveing up for a retro kit as I am sure you know you can no longer not get the wiring on it's own, so I unable to do what you have done by makeing up my own wiring like you have, unless you would like to make one for me and earn a few bob. I live in Cornwall.
Kind regards and thank you. michael i

ccfj1 Is crade_on active high or low? I'm sure with a resistor or two it could be made to charge without a ULF.

You should be ok mate, I had mine connected up in load of permutations trying to get it to work without the ILF.

I didn't know that.

Hi Bob, I've been thinking on this and I'm not 100% sure, I think it's high when the ignition is off and then when the ignition turns on it drops (I'm not sure if it just drops in voltage or it gets grounded.

I know when I was looking at getting it working (without the ULF), it didn't work as I thought it would, and it had some funny charging on/off issues (depending on how it was connected).

Smile wiring bluetooth

Hi John,
Thank you again for replying to me.
My car is a July 2004 X3 Sport without being prewired for Bluetooth.
What I hope is that you are able to make up the wiring kit for it. I have purchased a Eject Box and Cradle for the center console, at present have Bluetooth via a Nokia CK7W kit and the phone used by me is a Nokia 6310i which I will not replace.
BMW Retrofit kit for the car is 84 64 0 306 854.
Eject Box fitted is 84 64 0 306 855 and into that is Cradle 84 21 6 930 108 for the Nokia 6310i.
What I hope you will be able to do is make up the wiring loom, if it is of help I do have the BMW installation instructions for fitting which also includes the wiring digram with all the connections if it would be of help. I am not able to email them because I can't do things like that so will post it to you if you will give me your address. (PS I did send this email direct to you but hotmail returned it.)
As I said to you yesterday the eject box has a 18pin connector (round male pins) with 1 Green Pairing 2 Brown Neg 13 White cradle on and 5 Red 12 volt supply. As you know this information I found on the Xoutpost site.
I do not mind if you use second hand parts to fit it may also may be better for you to supply every thing at least you would then be able to test every thing before posting it to me. The main item is the harness made up.
Let me know what you wish to do and if you are able to help.
Kind regards Michael.

Ok, I've not done one for one of them before, I assume you have a bm54 (where is that located BTW).

OK, I think I have a spare snapin for one of them (you can have it if I can find it).

It's always a help, but My looms are normally a lot easer than the OEM kit to install, Please send me the install PDF (via PM) and I'll have a look at how it connects.

Hmmm, I'll PM you my other account.

Sounds like the e46 type cradle layout.

I dont normally do a full install kit mate, as the bits are easier for you to get from the dealer, The ULF (phone module) is best sourced from ebay, I supply the connection loom.
