aftermarket sub/amp, wired, not working?
Tapped into the wires from 11 and 12, and 5 and 6... hooked them into the high low converter, which then plugs into the amp via rca cables. I tried only pluggin just the 11 and 12 and just 5 and 6... but no luck. I am attached those wires to a cut rca cable. so one end can connect to the filter. But no sound, however my stock speakers sound hella lot better! lol.. also, keeps blowing the cd changer fuse. What am i doing wrong? It is a 12 pin connector btw. All pins, except one are being used. Also should add, i have bluetooth installed (aftermarket, bmw oem). Should I be tapping into the front speakers? Or rear should work? from the wires that are tapped ( 5 and 6 or 11 and 12) i joined them to a rca (i cut off one end) then plugged the other end into the hi input rca connectors on the converter, which then goes to the amp... Problem right there. I using +12V powersupply off the connector to power the loc and for its remote, and for remote on the amp. What should I do, use the 12v off the connector ONLY for the Remote on the loc and amp? And find real 12v to power the loc off the battery? So I have to use both 5/6 and 11/12? Or was that either. If both, how do I connect them both togeather, and wire it into the loc.
Also Am I connecting the wires off the connector into the loc correctly? The wires one + and one -, i plug into the cut end of the rca cable. - going to white, and + going to red. Then the other end plugs into the loc. Is this correct? Thanks Alpac, reallly really appreciate the quick response

Loc.. some cheap stuff, not sure of the brand... It has high level, low level inputs, bassboost, hz, L and R channel adjustments... Amp is clarion apx200.2, sub is clarion pwr series 350rms 4ohm svc, Also have a JL 4ohm sub, not sure of the model, but its 250-300rms.

OK I found more info about your amp. Indeed there is no need for a LOC if you use the high level inputs. The high level inputs are separated from the low levels. The high level inputs are on the opposite side of the RCA (low level) inputs. RCA are on the left while the high level inputs are on the right. Also you need to set the INPUT SELECT switch to BRIDGED if you use your sub amp to feed one single sub woofer

Hey, I am kinda confused. Where do I plug in the wires that i tapped from 5/6 and 11/12? Do i still use both or just one will do? Do i still attach them to the rca then plug it directly into the amp via rca, because there is no other place on the amp to plug the tapped wires into. There are 4 other places, but those are wire the speakers/subs (in my case one sub) which will be bridged. So i dont need to use that loc? Also i got remote from pin3 i believe not 2...

Did you check out the documentation I sent the link to in my previous post? Does that look like your amp? You need to connect your 5/6 and 10/11 to the high level input connectors on the right side. Is there any way you can take a clear pic of your amp so as I can take a look at the different connections? |
