1) Will I need a DSP adaptor? I don't have DSP button on my MID (not premium sound pack) and the part#65128379376 is on my amp. I have not been able to verify if this amp is DSP or non-DSP.
2) Where does the Dice mic install? I have found installation illustrations of the Dice unit to the center console, but running Dice wires/mic to BMW's prewired mic location seems difficult.
In advance, thanks
Not many 3.0L X5s were equipped with DSP, simply go with the standard kit.

We place the Mics up near the mirror for best audio quality. You are free to install wherever you choose.

Very interested in a MB 1500 for my wife's 2004 X5 3.0 non navi and no DSP primarily for the bluetooth phone function and satellite radio. I currently have an older DICE setup for an ipod mini. With the new unit, I'm debating on getting the satellite module as we can now stream Sirius through the iphone. For installation, where is the satellite module placed, is it in the rear or does it have to be in the dash? Also, how are the mic's placed, you mentioned that they're placed near the mirror, how long is the wiring for them and is that the most ideal location for them? Thanks, ready to buy but want to make sure I'm getting what I need, happy with my current DICE for 3 years now.

For best audio quality - the Mic shold be placed near the factory location by the rearview mirror.

We're also finding most people are simply placing the Sirius antenna in the lower left hand corner of the windshield for simplicity - which can barely be seen from the outside.

Tom,
This week I received my 1500MB from EAS. Monday nite I installed the wiring/unit (there are several videos on youtube that make this job an easy DIY) and I couldn't be happier with the result.

The system looks OEM, as everything tucks away and intregrates into the vehicle, so no "aftermarket" look. I was also apprehesive about the BT mic system (how well it works) as I had read some posts that referred to "echo" or "tunnel" effect with the Dice mic. However, my friends tell me that the mic is so good they can't tell that I'm on hands-free.

Currently, the system is set that if I am getting an incoming call, I have to press a button and mode it into BT before I can go hands-free. Is there a setting which would automaticly switch the unit to BT mode when an incoming call comes in (just like the OEM systems)?

What a great way to upgrade/update an older X5, and at a very reasonable cost (compared to the OEM modules). Big thumbs up to this system. Your 5% forum discount is also greatly appreciated.

Appreciate the review!

Unfortunately, you will need to enter into DICE mode in order to answer a call, DICE is looking into a way for a global "monitoring" system in order to behave just like OEM.

If this is a simple software change, updates are simply a flash away!

I'd like to purchase this item for my 2002 X5 with NAV, without DSP.

All features of this kit are compatible with my vehicle, correct? (bluetooth, steering wheel controls, etc...?) What is the difference between the front and rear mount? Just where the box is located? Wouldn't most folks want front mount, otherwise you'd have to run an iPhone cable the whole way to the front of the vehicle?

Also, is the iPhone docking cable an apple product? I am using the Otterbox Defender case on my iPhone, which has a slim opening for a cable to plug in. The apple cable works, but most aftermarket cables do not.

Do you have the Defender or Commuter model Otterbox case? The Defender is much more "intrusive" on the plug area, and that is my concern.

Thanks
