you can use ultraiso to open the corresponding image and just replace the navboot file within.
(google for ultraiso and download the trial, that'll do)
I would avoid going to T26.09A if possible as it screwed up the ETA calculation on my system, and going back to V24 then V26 +toggle hasn't helped.

In what way has it screwed up the ETA function? AFAIK mine is OK, though I haven't actually checked in detail.

Routing from Leeds --> Wilmslow used to correctly identify arrival time at 60 -70 minutes. It now shows 120 -130 minutes while on a A& B roads, then when I make it to the motorway it drops to about 60 -90 minutes. This is a definitive change. On shorter journey's the ETA impact doesn't seem as great.

As the original thread is closed I have to post here that for me as a MINI driver it seems to be more tricky to change the bootscreen. I finally woked out that a gif has to be less than 11KB to match the module length. Does anybody know some tricks to optimize the file size?

Mmmm ... worrying. Will try this on Wednesday when I am running a known route. It was always reasonably accurate for me and adjusted the ETA en-route to compensate for slower than expected road conditions etc.

Here is an updated version. I think this might work better for some.

Two modes 3D and 2d
Pointing North pressed first time selects pointing North 2D. Selected the next time gives you Pointing North 3D!
Travel Direction pressed first time selects Travel Direction 2D. Selected the next time gives you Travel Direction 3D!

Also splash images are 45967 unique colors in jpeg, instead of GIF.

I ran out of CDs and ran out my battery, so I have yet to test it. I will go buy a new battery tomorrow and some new CDs. Let me know what you think

Is it just me or does everyone lose all street names in 3D mode ? Looks great though without street names it loses some practical benefits...

Has anyone created a navboot file with === BMW === with the colour BMW logo above it like Paul was proposing a while back ?

Thanks guys, great work !

cheers,
Scott.

Try it in Split screen mode. It should be loaded up as v26, but just has some extra features of changing 2D to 3D.

In other words. If you are pointing North 2D and choose Pointing North as a menu option, it should change you to 3D Pointing North.

If you are pointing north 2D and choose Travel Direction, it should change you to travel direction 2Db
