In other words. If you are pointing North 2D and choose Pointing North as a menu option, it should change you to 3D Pointing North.

If you are pointing north 2D and choose Travel Direction, it should change you to travel direction 2Db
Right you are man.. working very well!

Wow, now that's interesting! How did you get this to work? I mean, GifExtractor doesn't even show the image (of course, since it's no GIF )
How did you insert that JPEG and how did you calc the CRC24 checksum?

To 2Wires,

Now amibiship/Nomad have released this new version, you couldn't modify your GIFExtractor to handle JPEGs as well could you? :-)

I was playing around with the settings and every time I went back to the main screen pressing "Menu," another one of the missing entries has been back in place. Looks like the nav unit had to re-scan the bus to find all features installed.

BTW: the same always happened when I went back to V26 (+toggle3D)
HI lebowski,

yes, he did. He has been playing around the nav system for the whole sunday and a part of monday. What you mean happened same to me, after rebooting almost all functions were missing, but came back one by one in around 5 minutes.

His aux heating is definetively gone. Somebody on another board suggested to wait a few days with V26 installed, that it would come back. And so he will do, everything better than going to the dealer and tell them stories (car is sill under waranty).

I installed yesterday V26toggle3D, the first attempt went the screen back to the 90īs, version 01. Second one was succesfull and it works great. Thatīs absolutely enough for me. I am happy also to recuperate the BMW initial screen, so, no discussions at the dealer.

Big thanks to ambishop and all other guys who helped with their comments. Fantastic job

Best regards
ALex

splash screen

Hi,
yesterday I downgraded to v.24 and back to v.26+toggle3D and it works perfectly. The only problem is the splash screen. Here what happens:
I load the navboot with toggle 3D into gifextractor and extract the gifs: I see 9 gifs, the 4th is the original splash screen. I highlight this and exchange it for the BMW with the roundel. after a while I see 10 gifs! the 4th is the new splash screen with the roundel, the 10th is a MINI splash screen. I close the gifextractor, start it once more, open the modified navboot and: there are only 8 gifs in there, now BMW splash screen, no MINI.
Anyone knows what happens?

Don't mind it. When you REOPEN the same navboot file, FIRST you have to select the options bellow, ignore filesize and complex gifs... Else you won't see all the gifs again. I had this too, I think you can ignore this bug in gifextractor.

Two modes 3D and 2d
Pointing North pressed first time selects pointing North 2D. Selected the next time gives you Pointing North 3D!
Travel Direction pressed first time selects Travel Direction 2D. Selected the next time gives you Travel Direction 3D!

Also splash images are 45967 unique colors in jpeg, instead of GIF.

I ran out of CDs and ran out my battery, so I have yet to test it. I will go buy a new battery tomorrow and some new CDs. Let me know what you think

Martin - yes, love the menu layout. EXACTLY what was needed I think.

I have noticed an oddity though - can anyone else confirm.

When you are in Guidance mode (have a route planned), when you press the command knob and get the menu up, there is an item to silence Bitchin' Betty - the icon next to this on my install seems corrupt - I can't recall what it SHOULD look like, but on the latest release it is a messy square.

Am just gonna go back to OEM V.26 to see what SHOULD be there, but if anyone else can do a check in the meantime, would be useful. I cannot recall if any of the previous versions corrupt the logo - is it to do with the new splash screen stuff - I noticed the fnavboot file was a bit larger.

Keep up the good work.

Mark.

The icon should be a speaker-symbol or when voice-output muted is a speaker-symbol with a red circle and a slash...

Martin, could you please go back one step and have the 3D/2D-logic as described above but the Splash as GIF as in the previous versions?
