Yes, definitely agree if that's possible.

Reloaded 25/26 and yes, it should be a speaker. Another anomaly was that on the RH side of the split, I had nothing other than the GPS box - no location or co-ords.

Going to try and burn again and redo the upgrade - I am concerned about the increased navboot file size though. I wonder if the JPEG splash has corrupted something. Too many changes in one release and it starts to confuse things if a bug surfaces.

OK. Reburnt and reloaded and this time all seems OK. Spkr icon back and I have co-ords and location on the RH split window.

However there is no default splash screen in the 'as released' version. On the previous load, I installed a logo splash screen with GifExtractor - I wonder if that corrupted the file.

Anyone else fancy trying to load a GIF into the new version and reloading? Martin didn't say it couldn't be done - just that it was now working with JPEG's (did I understand that correctly?).

Mark.

Edit: OK. Martin's post does say 'Also splash images are 45967 unique colors in jpeg, instead of GIF'

So am I correct in saying that we cannot use GifExtractor to replace splash screens in this version? Darn!

I ran out of CDs and ran out my battery, so I have yet to test it. I will go buy a new battery tomorrow and some new CDs. Let me know what you think

I'm not quite following anymore. Which navboot file is this for? Stable V26? Do you need to apply the patch first and then this?

Looks like you are doing one hell of a job on hacking that thing !

Martin,

navboot-02-27 is running like a charm except the missing splash screen.
So could you please go back one step and have the 3D/2D-logic as it is but the Splash as GIF as in the previous versions?
Even the standard splash screen would do for me.

Keep up the great work

Hi,

also me has lost the aux heating on the screen. Anyway, I´ve never used it, I prefer the navi 3D update.

Best regards
Alex

3d and splash screen

Yesterday I took the official BMW released v.26, and the navboot file from here:http://www.xoutpost.com/nos/navboot3dtoggle.zip. Using gifextractor I exchanged the original splash screen gif for the BMW with roundel. Then using UltraISO I replaced the navboot file in the original image with the just prepared one (toggle 3D + new splash screen). Then I used Alcohol 120% to burn a new CD from that changed image.
After that I downgraded to released v.24 and upgraded to v.26 using my new CD.
And everything works perfect: 3D toggle, new splash screen and all functions including aux heating are present! Great!

@ambishop:
Hey pal, great work that last release, but could you tell us how you've put in that JPEG, or better: would you please be so kind and prepare another navboot file with the ol' GIF =BMW= splash screen, so we can start replacing it with our one's again?

Thanks in advance!

is there a possibility to show the splash-screen by a shortcut when the system works/car is running? i made my own logo and want to show it to people and want not wait 20 minutes for opening the car or putting ignition on.
