Thanks for the info - though I did do just that, and each time I tried it, the image was missing. So I'm a bit stumped.

Can you confirm at what 'address' in gifExtractor the image should be located at?

When I initially run it on the vanilla modified navboot file and run the extract, I can see the ===BMW=== image - though at the address above where the image is, it is blank. So I click on the address where the image is located, do an 'exchange' and tick the Complex Gif and Ignore Filesize and load the image. Close down gifExtractor and re-run against the now modified navboot and the 'blank' location shows up but not the location where the splash was inserted.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong as I did have a right freak with the stuck disk this morning!! Any advice appreciated (but I have had no problems with other versions of navboot)!

Cheers,

Mark.

Sorry to be a pain and look like I am complaining.

Firstly V26 is great after v25 and all this work (by others) is fantastic.

I am in the middle of changing the logo and going for toggle but have just read that I need to downgrade before upgrading again to v26 again. I got no cds with with the car and so have not got a v25. I could v26.09beta but obviously there are problems. I realise that I do not have to really run it but I would like better to go for v25 then back to v26 toggle.

Does anyone know where I can get v25 from?

Also has anyone had a problem with BMW service with a 'different' version.

John

But you can use the beta version since the update to the toggle version removes the "bad" things...

WAIT! Don't do that! Installing the beta (26.09a) in the US will take your MK4 into Euro-mode and only your dealer can recode it!

So download v25 and go with that.

Minister that tip was really bad!

I think John is in the UK so Euro-mode should be fine.

What I would dispute is going from 26.09 to V26 release 'takes away all the bad things'. It doesn't, not in my experience anyway. The ETA issue remains on my car. I'd whole-heartedly recommend that anyone who wants the perspective view goes from V24/V25 straight to V26 toggle.

Don't touch the beta - beta bad!

I agree. It's best to avoid the beta entirely. There's no way of knowing what unstable code it might introduce to the system, and how much of it is removed by upgrading to another version...

Well the ETA issue persists, along with the selected perspective menu option i.e. if you flash to beta, select perspective menu, reflash with BMW V26 (no toggle-just the release) and the Perspective view still appears. I think all these settings are stored in Non-Volatile RAM along with address book, route preference, Set Menu settings (split screen), language etc. Not sure where they are stored mind you, but a 2 hour battery disconnect doesn't remove them!

Right. That's why I would stay away from the beta. Better be safe than sorry...
