Nav OS upgrade covered under maintenance/warranty?
If not, how much does it usually cost to have the dealer do it? I feel so outdated after looking at what you all have done with your Xs!

I'm at BMW of Riverside right now, and my service advisor is suggesting that his service manager and warranty advisor are saying that upgrades/updates aren't included under warranty unless there's a problem with the vehicle that they will fix.
Any suggestions on how I should approach this? |

And .. I'm afraid the dealer is correct. BMW NA now state in the release notes for the NAV OS update that the upgrade is no longer covered under the vehicle warranty. Thanks BMW NA ! |

I had my OS upgraded under warranty recently. It takes them almost 5 minutes to complete. It's very fast and there should be no charge.

This appeared as a new item in the V27 release notes/service bulletin:
WARRANTY INFORMATION Updating the vehicle at customer request is not covered under warranty. |

Thanks for the replies!
I just did it myself - thanks to the wonderful instructions here, it took all of 3 minutes once I had made the software CD. Kinda irks me that my dealer/BMWNA wouldn't mind spending those 5 minutes taking care of their customers. |
