Thanks much guys. I found the problem, it was my Dvd burner that crapped out on me. Its not even an year old, guess you get what you pay for when you buy on black friday sale

Anyways heres the "working combination". I tried Technic's method of burning a DvD+R at 4x & it works fine. I havent bothered experimenting with any other combination as I dont want to ruin more DvDs. The only difference between what Technic posted & what I did was that I used a Fuji DvD.

Good luck to all with the same issues as me.
