Welcome to the forum Jake, unfortunatly you only get the major street names in perspective mode, as the mk4 is (aledgedly) not quick enough to render all the street names in 3d view, so if you want all the street names then you need to runthe display in 2d (flat).

ah.. interesting! Ok, cool. The Perspective view is really a novelty to me, so no big deal. Thank you for clarifying, I appreciate it!

I have a small issue. My setup is follows:
2006 M3 with MKIV Factory NAV.
Car came with ver 4-1/60.
I upgraded to V31 (4-1/00).

I'm able to get into perspective view, but when i do, i have no street names showing up.

Do I need a new map disc for this info, or should i have done an incremental upgrade to v31 from V26?

Would love to get some input from you folks on this.
Thanks!

Jake
Hi all - back in X5 land again come this Saturday when I get my April 2006 X5 3.0d Le Mans Sport edition delivered. I've had three X5's E53's but its been 3 years since my last one.
Any ideas what an April 2006 (registered) X5 will have SatNav wise ? I'm presuming its one of the last ones so should have the latest version of software ?

Cheers
Chris

will this work for MKII nav's? I have MKII nave in 2001 X5 4.4i with original nav sw. will it help in entering destinations. It's really clumsy in version I have. I have mic how do I enable voice activation of nav? do I need blutooth adaptor?

The OS update for a MKII is Ver 21 or higher to get you to 2-1/81 which is the last update. it is on all disks after 20.

Depends what software version you have in your Mk2.

From at least OS CD V20, right through to today's V32, the Mk2 SW has not changed because development stopped well before Septmber 2002 (when OS V20 was released).

The last version of Mk2 software ever released was 2-1/81
Check in the top right of your Settings screen to see your current version

If you have older than 2-1/81, then an upgrade will help but will mostly be bug fixes. To upgrade you can use any OS disc between V20 and V32.

so then i just burn this sw as a bootable disc and run it in nav with doors and trunk open? Any nav upgrade will be benificial to me and this seems to be the latest.

any info on if voice recognition for destinations is in nav brain or software? I think I have mic but when I push voice button on steering wheel nothing happens with OBC. my old X5 would say not available in OBC part of dash drivers cluster.
