Oh my mouth is really watering now. Just downloading. Has anybody in the UK done this yet or will I be the first? I mean on this forum, not in the UK as a whole.

If you have the DVD NAV system, there are NO free DVD Map upgrade....however, I'm sure you can find someone here who can help you out in getting the most updated DVD map....

Nevertheless, the NAV OS (the operating system, not the map disk) should be upgraded for free during your car's warranty period.

NAV OS V26 just came out and some of the dealers don't even have it. Crevier BMW service has heard about it, but they haven't officially gotten it yet.

I just called Momentum BMW and they said they might have 27.1. I'll see what I can get out of them.

I'm going to download v26 right now and install it.

I love upgrading things!

MkIII and V26

Hi All,

I know some people have said "don't install V26 on a MkIII", but from someone on anoher board said something about it working on a MkIII, but after 2 minutes it stops working.. Sounds like b*ll to me... Anyone given it a go on a MkIII yet...

I reckon it will work on a MkIII, anyone willing to give it a go...

Even though I'm still under warranty, I'm going to try the upgrade myself anyways (can't stand to wait).

Anybody know if I will have the option to switch to metric units (ie. meters..not feet) at some point in the upgrade. My current system reads out in meters as I'm Canadian and I'd prefer to stick with it. Maybe it's a service menu change...or must be recoded at the dealer?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's true for the OS but not for the map disk. However, at this point V26 is not available to dealers in the U.S. or Canada. So if you want the dealer to do it for you then you'll have to wait.

Hey, it's a free service so what do you expect Not to mention there's probably over a hundred people simultaneously trying to download it right now, so I'm sure that's a factor as well.

You do have the option to pay for the Premium service at Megaupload.com to speed it up, if desired. It all depends on how patient you are
