Hey guys, I seems to have got the first part no problem but I'm sticking on the POISON part. 1 I did no problem, 2 I can get poison to run but when I go forward and then select the DB file that I have saves in a folder on the desktop called maps it crashes poison every time.

E:Adding POI to map database:
1. Copy map database from CD/DVD to the hard drive (bibliogr and carindb files are enough fo CD, bibliogr and DB folder for DVD maps).
2. Run poison.exe, open map folder (folder where bibliogr file located)
3. Add your own POI or import from plain lon/lat txt or csv file.
Take a look at http://www.poiplaza.com/index.php?p=...pg=ds&lsts=616
You can use: iGO 8 txt, iGo txt, GARMIN csv, destinator asc, mio asc, navigon asc, route 66 csv and tomtom asc files from there.
4. Save modified database
5. Insert modified database (carindb file of DB folder) back to image using UltraIso.

OK I've got poison to run on my other machine.

Let me check I am trying to do the correct steps now.

I have place the BD file and BIBLIOGR file from the map disk into the folder POISON.

I then run the exe POISON and click forward.

From there I select a click select a map database folder and browse to the folder DB within the directory POISON.

I then get an error message saying. Unable to open database files.

1: what version of windows are you running
2: what version of the GTK libs are you running
3: don't save on the desktop, make a dir in the root dir (c:\bmw\db and c:\bmw\db1)
4: have you set the decimal point to . (and not ,).

Hi there, thanks for your response.

I'm running windows 7.

gtk2-runtime-2.14.7-2009-01-13-ash I linked to it from earlier in the thread.

I had not done that with the directories but I have now. I created a directory called bmw and put the DB file from the disk image in there along with the BIBLIOGR file and created a new folder called DB1 within the same BMW directory.

As for the ./, thing, I'm not sure how to change/check that on windows 7.

In win7, right clik on desktop and select personalize, then "all control panel items" then "region and language", then "additional settings", its the first option.

Keep the dir names small (less than 7 chars), and dont use spaces.

so

c:\bmw\db (for oem db files)
c:\bmw\db1 (for modded db files)

Give that a go mate.

Checked all that and still the same error. All I should be doing is trying to open the DB folder with POISON right?

Mount Your High DVD img in Daemon Tools. Then open only the virtual drive with POISoN and don't mark any files or folders, just click on OPEN. After poisoning save results in empty folder on the desktop.

Ah I see....

I have 2 dir

c:\bmw\OEM\db
c:\bmw\modded\db

Here is a pic of the oem\db

Inside the db dir is the 2 db files.

After you load and import the cameras, save to the modded dir, and you should get this...

You have both db files in the same dir and you need all the other files as well (as it is on the disc).
