Streaming video from phone to Nav screen

Now I know what my next smart phone will be (other than an Apple product) - after some search, i finally found a product that can take a video from a telephone and "stream" it to a TV

HTC Media Link HD - this device connects to your TV via an HDMI connection, draws power via a mini-USB, connects to the phone via wireless connection... that means, that now it should be possible to stream video from a 3G or 4G device to your in-car entertainment system, just like the Pandora radio through a bluetooth connection...

HTC Media Link HD Overview - HTC Accessories

there is a member on the yahoo ibus hacking group in Middle East, who pointed out this device - he is using it for the navigation, movies and whatnot on his factory Nav with the factory TV module and a factory AV input... from my understanding, the phone's touch screen becomes a touchpad for the Nav screen navigation...

definetely goes into my To Do List...

Can you go into a little more detail about this. Reason i ask you said it does HDMi. After looking at the factory lcd the resolution on its is less than vga , it uses the 480 x crap forgot resolution. How is he using wireless HDMI. did he buy an digital to analog converter? did he buy a hdmi to vga converter, is he using stock nav lcd or did he upgrade the lcd to one that uses hdmi and no longer using stock. Did he he convert the stock nav to rgb and use it with the htc streaming adapter. Sorry for all the questions but a great find.

i am in the middle of the process of installing this setup... the factory TV is a crap to begin with, it does mono only, has crappy resolution... the only reason we started talking about his set up is because he was looking for a better resolution and as of this moment there is NO better resolution than what is available through the factory TV resolution of 640 x 240 - not sure about the numbers though, but still, crappy...

you will need to have an HDMI-to-RCA cable converter in order to convert the HDMI signal to regular analog signal... i already got the phone, ordered the wireless module and the converter cables... once i have this in my possession, i will try it out and will post the results, hopefully with a video...

i don't have much of info at this moment, as i am still trying to figure out the android thing i got... lol...

Luddite/Geezer here...
Not even on 'my list', and this mod is so one can stare at the NAV screen watching catchy vids, while rolling down the highway at 100 feet per second?

yeap, sure thing - watch catchy videos... not catchy videos... google navigation... with traffic overlay... even with sat imagery... with turn by turn voice directions... stream pandora and have the artwork on the screen... get the phone book as on the phone... all those stupid, unnecessary things... lol... all on the factory head... without much of super expensive mods... TV tuner... TV-in-motion... <<--the most expensive parts... HTC media thingy... about $50-100... HDMI-to-RCA cable... HTC android phone... I am sure this list is not all inclusive....

well... at least, this is the idea... how it turns out - time will show... it could the biggest flop there was!!! hahahah

functional diagram

MimicsX2 device is untested and therefore should NOT be considered as being endorsed. a fellow on mp3car.com will do the updated testing and I will update this info as it becomes available.

Hey Fariz, I know right! Hope you're keeping well. Yeah it's still going on strong only problem I find with it in the winter the lens gets filthy and you can't see anything through it but maybe that's a sign that I need to clean my car more often so thanks again for your help on that!

Watched the video that looks sweet man! How do you find the sound through the AV channel because isn't the TV tuner input Mono only?
