what does it mean re-code?(i live in Ukraine)

i called to my dealership bmw and they dont know how to make it...

you must first downdate to 27 or 26 and next step update modify 28. Because , if you have fw 28 its impossible update same fw28, nothing will happen.

The link http://gren.exe.su/flash/BMW28.rar only contains the following languages:
- Italian
- Spanish
- French
- Dutch
- German
- US Englisk
- UK English

If Gren wants to share the right navboot file with russian, and the language number, with a I-Bus interface, it is not difficult to code the MK4 (I can do that if you are based in Kiev).

And I would be very surprised if the BMW dealer would accept to code the MK4 with a language that is not officially supported by BMW.

Gentlemen,

I have used the great NavTweak tool to edit the NAVBOOT file in the 29.1 software for the MKIV to adapt to Danish language. For those requesting a full Danish version please download my NAVBOOT file at the location: http://www.megaupload.com/dk/?d=WU1THHO8

Procedure:
1) Download above file to your PC and rename it to "navboot"
2) Download ver. 29.1 image for the MKIV (found elsewhere on X5W)
3) Open the 29.1 image using UltraISO (free software)
4) Go to directory V_2/RR/0101/BMWC01S/app_sw
5) Delete the original "navboot" file from the view
6) Insert the downloaded navboot file at the same spot
7) Burn revised image to CD using UltraISO
8) Bring the CD to your car and update (procedure found elsewhere on X5W)
9) Done! Now all your menus and navigation are in Danish (except for voice that remains in English) and you have stylish BMW logo as a start-up (=splash) screen.
