i want to put together a navigation retrofit on my e46/2002, for now, i have mk4(mono coded), bm54 (back version) , a/c relocation unit and wiring loom, my question is: can i use navcoder with all navigation system (including 16:9 navigation monitor) powered by a DC source (on required pins on wiring loom) to try the system and recode all modules (connected)?...i already check the bm54, it works, but i don't want to recode the mk4 on other car, i don't want to make some mistake and crash someone else's car's navi system(or else)...

thank you in advance

You don't need to code following items:
BM54
16:9 Monitor
The nav will have to be coded from Mono to COlor to drive the screen
But the nav won't boot up properly unless it is connected to a car, so you have to wait until the nav is in the car before you recode it.

And NavCoder can code it for you

Regards, Jochen

Help please!

I already eMailed Jochen but perhaps someone here can help me too?

I am trying to install NavCoder on my laptop with Windows Vista.

I have followed the instructions on installing and registering the missing OCX files but when I try to run Navcoder - I get this error message:

Runtime error '339'
Component 'msinet.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I have already tried reinstalling msinet.ocx three times but I still get the same error.

HELP PLEASE!

Thanks in advance.

Find somewhere in the internet (Google for example is you friend) this file msinet.ocx, put it into System folder and then install it using regsvr32 comand (regsvr32 msinet.ocx)

don't forget to use "run as administrator" when use command prompt for reg. those ocx, won't work otherwise (registering using regsvr32)

Thanks! NavCoder now works!

I had two issues:

1) I was at the command prompt but didnt select "run as administrator".

2) One of the ocx file was corrupted. Downloaded a new file, re installed, re-registered and everything now works!

Thanks to all of you.

Now I just need to make sure Vista selected the correct driver for the iBus USB interface card.

The instructions for driver installation at the seller's website is for Windows XP only. I have eMailed Rolf already asking for instructions on driver installation for Vista.

Anyone here have info for me on how to load USB card driver for Vista?

Thanks in advance.

Hi whatheheck,

If it will make help, I had no problems with the driver when I first started to use it with vista. After installing the software to the laptop and connecting it with the car it didn't even asked for a driver. When I opened the NavCoder I had a good communication with the car at Com5.

Excellent! Thanks for the info.

I will hook it up to my M5 tonight and see if it works.

Thanks again.

You are absolutely correct! I plugged in the USB interface to the iBus and it worked perfectly. Looks like Vista loaded the correct USB driver.

Navcoder now works great! I was able to recode my LCM and turn off all the light fault reporting. Now I can replace my exterior lights with LED's.

NavCoder worked perfectly recoding my LCM on my 2001 M5, but it didnt work on my wife's 2002 330ci. I recoded the LCM on my wife's E46 330ci but the rear brake light still reported a fault on the on board display.
(I replaced my wife's brake light with OEM Hella LED tail lights.)
Recoding didnt turn off the fault light.

I will eMail the Navcoder author soon.
