But apparently not so tiring that you keep posting away.
![]() If you have ever been in something like the military then you would understand I may be sarcastic, but I am not all up in your grill like you seem to believe. I have spent more than 20 years in places with collapsed economies (aka shit-holes) and not once did I see any local/national government do anything that helped, but in fact all the rules and regulations had done nothing but peel away the thin veneer that people call society usually leading to armed conflict. The places that got better were due to people not relying on a Mayor, General, President or Dictator and since I have personally bled for the ideals of the Constitution to have people espouse things that go against it is just like being spit upon. Everyone has the Right to their opinion but no one should believe that there is a clause in the Constitution that suspends the Rights of the People in times of strife or that they should give up those Rights for a little safety or security for they deserve neither. But, your commander in chief has repeatedly said we should treat this pandemic as a "war against an invisible enemy". What does a soldier do in times of war? They follow orders. You should know better than everyone here with the 20 years of military service you've done for the country. It's not desperate times, desperate measures. It's treating it like a war and FOLLOWING ORDERS because we're all in this war together. Every citizen has their part in it and should play their role. You don't get to tell your superior in times of war: well geez commander, but putting on my mask/ helmet violates my rights as guaranteed by the Constitution. Think about it. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. You want to quote the founding fathers, there's your quote. They knew that life trumps liberty, which trumps pursuit of happiness. You're trying to have your cake and eat it too. That's just not going to work out well in our current situation.

Here's three more recent studies:
https://news.yale.edu/2002/05/23/ris...searcher-shows https://drexel.edu/now/archive/2014/...loyment-Study/ https://nypost.com/2020/04/20/explai...d-coronavirus/ https://nypost.com/2020/04/20/explai...d-coronavirus/ I never challenged your premise. I agree with it and said so four or five hundred pages ago. I challenged the number of deaths per 1%. Every study should be challenged and there is alway another study that came to a different conclusion. We have different opinions--so what, no reason for bashing rhetoric.

My wife just came back from doing Saturday grocery shopping. All but about 20% of the people have taken the opening of businesses to mean it is the all clear and all the guidelines are gone. Parking lots are full. Traffic is back to normal. Hope it is different wherever everyone else lives.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is from the Declaration of Independence not the Constitution, but it is in no way saying that happiness is lower than liberty and that liberty has less value than life and some people think it's an either or type of thing but it is not.

On Friday my brother-in-law died of the virus. He had been very carefully following the shelter in place and guidelines. My sister took him to the hospital for an unrelated problem where he was tested because he had a fever. Several days later the hospital called to tell him he tested positive. A few days later he started having breathing problems. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Three days later he was under hospice care. During the hospital stay and hospice she wasn't no allowed to be with him. My sister is sheltered in place until she can be tested today. It is very likely she will test positive. She is all alone with her grief and anxiety in their home of 57 years. Her son lives nearby. He can't hold her or enter the house.
The funeral is limited to 10 people, direct family only. Funeral must be at the grave site only. Jim was one of my mentors, he was wise, inspirational and had a wonderful dry sense of humor, A 6 foot 3 big strong in ever way man. She plans to have a celebration of life in the summer if the virus allows it. Somewhere, someone infected him. This is what happens when individuals decide their wants or needs are more important than others, that their liberty entitles then to infringe on the liberty of others. Over 60 percent of the population believe it is too soon to open the country which likely means at least 60 percent have been able to find a way to adhere to the guidelines. As one person said here ---you know where I can stick my opinions. You can all stick your opinions and selfish or twisted view of your rights or liberty over that of others, or you have to work regardless of the consequences to others--and, of course, up your ass where the sun don't shine. Especially those that tell me I am not listening to their point of view, try to make it sound like I am the only one that does not share their opinions or I have a screw loose. I honestly hope no one else anywhere experiences what my sister is. Based just the few here it is certain they will.

Where do you think he got it if not from someone else? Michigan very early put in place one of the most strict guidelines including shelter in place. Someone somewhere was not following the guidelines. And to tell me I am not thinking clearly, even if I were, displays your total lack of compassion, empathy and dignity. You can't fix stupid.

Shouldn't the PPE provide protection when out getting essentials no matter if someone was infected and at the same store? Genuinely curious as to the PPE and distancing when out of the house people are using/going by and possible transmission vector. Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk

The first day the public beach opened here it looked like an anthill someone had kicked open. The next day there were police there to force distancing. The city sent out notice to residents and posted at the beach entrance that if it continues the beach will be closed. Dallas has started to put injunctions on businesses that aren't supposed to be open or have not adjusted for social distancing. Even if everyone in the metroplex were following all the guidelines we are still be in trouble as infections and deaths are still increasing, we should still be sheltered in place until infections and hospitalizations have been declining for 2 weeks. As to what point the virus is expected to be under control. It is when 1 person is infecting less than 1 person. If one person is infecting more that 1 person infections increase. If 1 person infects 2 or 3 the infection will increase exponentially, an extremely small range between the curve going down and a huge spike.
