Let me give you my opinion of an ethnic slur.
Calling Native North Americans, indians. They were called this by the invaders that came and settled their land, because they resembled people from a foreign place. And I can bet you those invaders felt superior to the foreigners they were comparing the Natives to, as well as to the Native North Americans. That’s racist.
How many times have you referred to Native North Americans as indians?
In the 20th and 21st centuries, indigenous peoples in the Americas have been more vocal about the ways they wish to be referred to, pressing for the elimination of terms widely considered to be obsolete, inaccurate, or racist.
So again I’ll ask, How many times have you referred to Native North Americans as indians?
