My point is you have used the word before. Our educational system teaches with that word. Natives to this land don’t like it. If you stopped using it, then you personally understood that it was offensive.

Guido in the same sense could be received as personally offensive to you. But it’s hard to tell when it’s used in TV shows, and restaurant names, etc. Same could be said when the police radio a suspect, “we have a BLACK male, red tee shirt...”. Why not African?

This is the society we live in. It’s been going on in North America for hundreds of years. Like Stephen said, “don’t get your panties in a bunch”.
In support of Upallnight--The origination doesn't matter. The continued use in any context doesn't matter. What matters is these labels signal racism to the vast majority of today's society. And, if one doesn't want to be seen as a racist they should reframe from using terms that are clearly seen as intentional demeaning, derogatory labels of others. Also, knowing Upallnight, he doesn't have his panties in a bunch. I suggest you read the definition of racism before you make another post that contributes to the view of others more informed and considerate than you are. I don't see anyone outraged. What I read is constructive criticism that should be a response to anyone that supports your views in hopes it will help them understand why they should question their opinion and hopefully come to a more considerate point of view.
