The X3 may have been a better choice.

what does front wheel drive have anything to do with getting ready for an m3? He can't even back out of the garage without hitting anything and he wants a sports car?? he should be learning on a POS.. can't run before you learn how to walk.

I really have a problem with sweeping generalizations like this. If you knew at4689 personally they, by all means say what you want.

But its generalizations like this that lead to pigheaded stereotypes and are the same kind of generalizations have lead to racism in the past.

There are by all means some bad 17 year old drivers. There are also some horrible 30 year old drivers. Point is, there are good and bad drivers from both camps and one shouldn't generalize either way...

Well after he learns how to back out i guess he can learn on a rear drive car. Rear drive and front drive cars handle very differently from front wheel drive cars. You can get into some deep shit if you just start pushing it in an M3 and youve never driven a rear wheel drive car before.

right so a kid with 1 year of experience with a permit and got his license a couple weeks ago can handle a 13 second car.. sure... like I said, all it takes is 1 mistake. He's mentally not there yet. Nor are his skills. Put a lot of HP and high performance machines he front teenagers with little experience and their inability to assess risk and you got a lethal combo for himself and people around him. Probability and statistics don't lie. Go to talk to insurance people.
