![]() That Joe Thornton is one helluva player. I think Boston was crazy for giving him up. Could it go down in history as one of the worst deals in the NHL? There are several but the one that is tops in my mind, especially as a Canucks fan, is Markus Naslund for Alex Stojanovich. Who is that you ask??? My point exactly.

Perhaps Toronto and vancouver should have conducted a coach-trade??
I would consider a guy like Perry Pearn, assistant coach in New York and formerly with Ottawa; he has an extensive record of successes and has been in the league long enough to be well connected - a new and fresh perspective is often what a team needs I have heard the Shark Tank is awesome in the playoffs and I know both Edmonton and Calgary are incredible as well. I certainly encourage anyone to attend a game if they can score tickets; it is amazing to be a part of the wild exuberence of 17,000+ hockey fans in an enclosed building. I believe Boston fired their GM shortly after the trade. Stojanovich?? no kidding eh |

www.TSN.CA is the best source for nhl info on the web, quinn got canned last friday (4/21) the same day that Pittsburgh canned James Patrick. Don't be surprised to see at least 1 of them head out to LI to take over for Milbury and or/their interim coach.

btw- how about jagr pulling the Willis Reed last night? the guy should be wearing the C, what a warrior. He was clearly in a shoulder harness, I can't believe he would lace 'em up with that serious of a shoulder separation.

Crap! The Red Wings were eliminated by the Oilers.
It was a helluva series and Edmonton kicked butt. I'm not a fan of either team really but it was kind of sad to see the Wings get eliminated because it might be the last time we see Steve Y and Chelios (???). Sorry Jeff. I know you're a Red Wings fan. Now you can join me on the sidelines weeping.

I've kept both of your seats warm... my Rangers .... not so good ![]() Can't lose 3 of 6 top forwards and defensemen AND starting GK and expect to win in the playoffs... Can't complain though, i'll take a 100 point season and the playoffs after the last 8 years, amazing comeback IMHO.

Gresch, and Jeff, I feel your pain. It was a horrible end to what was an amazing season for the Rangers. There is no reason to hang our heads. The future looks bright on Broadway. And the Devils look unbeatable at this point.
BTW, James Patrick wore #3 on our bluelines for 10 years. Craig Patrick, no relation, drafted James for the Rangers, and he joined the team after the 1984 Olympics. He was traded for Steve Larmer at the start of the 1994 season, and he retired during the lockout. His brother, I think he was Steve Patrick, played for the blueshits in the late 80s. If I remember correctly, the Rangers traded Dave Maloney to Buffalo for Steve Patrick. We traded a Maloney brother for a Patrick brother.
