I disagree and think that it has nothing to do with them being mexican but more to do with straining a system that is designed for people to pay in and then take out for things like basic services, education, emergency, & federal benes etc. If you have come here and want to be part of of the wheel you must assimilate. That was true 100 years ago and should be true now. I say...make everyone here now legal..get em on the books paying thier fair share and then put up the fences and start counting heads as they come in.

And that is what they intend to do. Give them some time to add themselves to the wheel.

jumping the fence is not how it should be done. get legal access to the country, it has nothing to do with prejudice, I'm from the ukraine and I dont like people from there who came here illegally any more than anyone else who came here illegally. My family and I have busted our asses to get here and to get to where we are today and these people come here and expect to be treated as equals, yes we are all people but i'm sorry my money and my time should not go to support someone who will never put that money back in my pocket

Please define "we". The first step to getting along is playing by the rules. By some estimates there are 11 million people in this country who aren't doing so. So let's be clear about who's falling short in the getting along department.

What about the guy who shortcuts to the head of the line at the exit ramp during rush hour? Do you support that behavior? Should we be upset and outraged by his disregard for the rules or should we honor him and his right to diss the rest of us?

You and I should be happy that we had the chance to come here legally, remember that everyone has to do what they have to do to be able to provide for their kids, don’t hate on others only because they did not have the luck you had.

So I guess you are not against child labor and some of the kids that are old enough to work some times don’t want does type of jobs or the parents will not let them do it, there is always something on the way.

Yeah you are right about that there are many unemployed people out there, but if they really wanted to work so desperate why don’t they go and look for these job that they claim that the immigrants are taking from them?
Why don’t I see more of them standing on certain corner waiting for some construction guy to come pick them up to go do some work, if they are so desperate why don’t they take those lower paying jobs like some of the immigrants do?

Sure your tax money my tax money everyone taxes money get used and the immigrants take advantage of this, but we take advantage of the low prices that we pay for services and certain items at the store so can we say that we take advantage of their cheap labor?

A) i did not get lucky by being allowed to come here
B) if you come here legally you will get help from the country to get you up and running so that you can become one of the rest of the population
C) i am not for child labor far from it i am not supporting sweat shops either but when i was 16 and wanted a job doing anything a stock boy or just someone to get the coffee i was told i need experience, what experience do these people have?
D) they cant compete with the wages "immigrants" get these "immigrants" will take anything now if you are a self respecting american after having had a job and being cut from it i doubt you would stoop to that level hence its the idea of driving your competition out with lowest rates
E) the prices at the store have nothing to do with the cheap labor of the illegals

and for the record they are not "immigrants" i am an immigrant they are illegals they do not belong here, if the INS needs to go looking for them they are not rightfully here. I am not discriminating against any particular race, as i noted earlier i frown upon the people from my country that come here illegally as well since they give me a bad name. and "remember that everyone has to do what they have to do to be able to provide for their kids" so you would rob a store or kill to do this? i agree there are plenty of people that would and desperate times call for desperate measures but that still doesnt mean that the rest should suffer.

Logic does not always seem to prevail. We will be simply outnumbered especailly in California.
My apologies for ambiguity.
I meant 'we' by US citizens (or who became ones via legal process) who does not believe in mass clemency. At the same time I am conflicted because I also understand how bad it is to polarizing people as us vs. them.
However, my heart is closer to people who persevere through years of adversities to be Americans however bad immigration policy it may be.
