The Radicalization of a Moderate

I just watched the parade. This Green-leaning, socially-moderate, fiscal conservative just got a wake up call.

Si se puede?

No you won’t, if you are here illegally. No you won’t, if you have no desire or motivation to learn the English language. No you won’t, if you march with Mexican and Puerto Rican flags atop of the Stars and Stripes.

No you won’t, if you feel that your mere presence here dictates entitlement to citizenship in this country. No you won’t, if you won’t if it means the Balkanization of America.

No you won’t.

You’ll obey our laws and respect our culture and salute our flag and speak our language or you will remain in whatever Third-World hell-hole you send your untaxed earnings back to.

I’ll pick my own strawberries, pay double for lawn care and wait a month to get that stucco or roofing job if the alternative is a de-facto invasion by people who have little desire to assimilate.

See you at the polls.

I agree, no they can't. I love how today was called 'day without immigrants' well last I checked everyone but black slaves 200 years ago and native americans are immigrants to the United States. So a day without immigrants means I should have stayed in bed (stupid German). How about 'day without a Hispanic immigrant' at least that would have been accurate.

Or should have said 'a day without illegals'. I saw a bunch of posters about how much illegal aliens give to the economy, lets discuss how much they take a way: INS, healthcare, benefits real citizens don't get, free education.....and the list goes on. More like blight on the nation in my eyes.

I guess my decendents should have just skipped Ellis Island and moved on in...since I would be given all the same rights anyway....

All today did was hurt any argument posed on why illegals should be citizens. Now as for all the little Hispanic kids that skipped school today, suspended in my eyes but then again...I use too much logic. All children shouldn't have gone to school in protest of the Hispanic kids that left.

Hey, when is 'Day without a Kraut', so I can stay home??

I think that some concession needs to be made for people who have been here for so long and not just ship them out. I agree however, that those that are here should respect our culture, salute our flag and sing the National Anthem in English.

It has amazed me how the media has blended the issues. The debate is over Illegals yet most outlets just used the term immigration as the central point. Misleading imo.

Sigh… we still have a way to go before we can all get along.

One of the demonstrator's sign says it all "no human is an illegal".
With enough time these immigrants will make more of an impact on the American society. Now whether you like it or not that's something else. I'm sorry but its unavoidable these immigrants are here to be part of America.

However I predict that they will get what they want whether I like it or not.
Logic does not always seem to prevail. We will be simply outnumbered especailly in California.

Who is the "we" you refer to? It'd be a push to have a majority of illegal immigrants, so i assume you mean something else?

these people come here cross the border and they start making money, i came here when i was 9 with my family and it took us nearly 3 years to just get approved to come here and then another 9 years to get citizen status and these people just literally hop over the fence and act like they own the place, hey sure the grocery store needs someone to unpack the groceries but there are plenty of kids in school who would be more than happy to do that, there are plenty of unemployed desperate for a job who wouldnt mind doing some lawn work, sure they are all hard workers but when my taxes pay not for my SSI but for their welfare thats a bit irritating

I mean we as an entire society. I think most of it is just dislike of a particular race and culture. It can't be denied we all have prejudices I think it is ok to admit it. I myself am prejudice but try to understand other people and where they come from. I think it is better to admit to it than to say I'm not.

How will America not change with so many different cultures and races here. America will always be a mixture of races there will be no one race.
Hmm..if all the people coming over illegally or legally had blue eyes and blonde hair things might be a bit different. Seriously now..being Mexican and married to woman of Irish descent and having a Mexican/Irish baby girl I see it all the time. It bothers me but you know what that's ok 'we' shall overcome. We as a society will have to accept each other one day.
