$100 burger

The stomach may fill but the pocket will be empty after eating the burger.

The Old Homestead Steak House in Boca Raton, Fla. unvieled its 20-ounce, $100 slab of ground beef, billed as the "beluga caviar of hamburgers" Tuesday, June 20, 2006. The burger combines the most expensive cuts of beef from the U.S., Japan and Argentina.

There is a "friendly battle" between The 21 Club and The Old Homestead here in NYC about who has the best and most expensive burger... having eaten neither i can't say who wins, but somehow it's big news around here when either changes their recipe or price.

Yeah right, I'll pay $100 for a burger. And with my luck, they'd over cook it. I hate when that happens.

OK, but how's the cilantro, cucumber, and shitake going to do anything but make it taste like a ground beef salad? I love cilantro, but it is a dominating green.

Useless mods?

One of the best burgers I've ever eaten was at a small truck stop (The Red Onion?) on I-4 between Lake City and Tallahassee, FL.

Yuck! Looks gross! And I'm with L, I'm sure they'd overcook it anyways! I like my meat medium-rare.
