Gas sucking pony car...WTF are you talking about? My GT gets 21mpg.....

The Corvette, one of those "big" engine cars...gets nearly 30mpg.

(BTW, just noticed in your VEHICLES list...you own two of those 'Fords')

Holy Mother of God.... WTF.

A Corvette Z06 with a 405HP V8 gets close to 30MPG.

Chevy SUV's get better mileage than Nissan SUV's.

I can continue, but again, it's futile.

Are you trying to prove how little you know about cars?

Hmm...just thinking....

2004 X5 4.4........17mpg (91 octane)
2006 Mustang GT 4.6........21mpg (87 octane)

So the poor design is getting better gas mileage on worse fuel.

I can get good highway mpg with my V8 X5 as well but the X5 and the pony cars all suck gas around town. In todays world we need cars that 20 to 30 MPG in town.

Not only is he a hypocrite in that regard, but the thread title is "guess pony cars is all they know how to do" yet, he somehwere in this nonsense he says that all the big 3 know how to do is make SUV's, WHICH, get better gas mileage than a significant portion of the Japanese SUV's.

Care to look up the MPG of a Toyota Sequoia? How about a Nissan Armada?

No you can't, I use to drive ONLY highway miles with the X5 and got 18mpg at best, and that was being very careful on the throttle. In the Mustang I'm ripping tires left and right, driving it hard, and still getting 20-21mpg. If I took it easy I'd be getting 22-23mpg. And I'm a huge Bimmer fan, but how much engineering did BMW have to shove in the valvetronic to get that 18mpg out? I know the X is a lot heavier then my Mustang but your principles of argument are all over the page.....

The Mustang is a fine car and it should better mpg than a four wheel drive SUV.

The Vete and the Mustang are good cars and I am sure that the Camaro will be good as well. However they are all cars that have limited utility and limited market share. They are not the future. The big three needs hits like the original Ford Taurus and the Chrysler mini van.

The best mini van or four door family car (like the Taurus) today is made by Toyota or Honda. This what is wrong with the big three and pony cars are just a distraction.
