Even worse if it's a Buick Century going 45 mph on the highway in the left lane with their left turning signal on
Actually, a lot of people do that in Canada, which was the one thing that annoyed me about their driving. It was snowing a good clip during the day, but they just used their DRLs. Trying to see where their taillghts were was a challenge in the snow and road spray.

Even worse than what you mentioned above........the reason I applaud people for using their headlight correctly: People with DRLs, and even those who dont have them, will drive at night without headlights, making it downright dangerous. Part of the reason are those electrolumscent gauge clusters in more and more cars that always light up (like the ones in my Lexus)............they make you forget about turning on your headlights. With most cars like BMW, if you don't turn on your lights, you'll realize "hey, my entire instrument cluster is black. Gotta turn on the headlights".

If I'm in the "mood", few on the planet get in or, by me. A hauling azz

In Fl most of the old folks move over to the fast lane and then forget to move back.

I was on I75 in FL this weekend and started pacing this silver cadillac in front of me at about 98 mph, then I went to pass him and looked in his car, the guy was at least 75-80 and his wife couldnt see over the dashboard on the passenger side. I have to say that I was quite impressed, I had no idea old people drove that fast.

Moved to Dallas/Ft Worth area Nov of last year. They must be TRAINED not to use thier turn signal. Too busy holding the cell phone to thier ear. NJ drivers look like saints in comparison!

hehe not to poke fun at the "old" members on this board, but some old people simply don't have a sense of speed, so they could be going 98 and thinking they are actually doing the speed limit

At the risk of sounding like the Geico caveman, I take umberage with the "Idaho" reference. Still, heavy urban traffic is not for the faint of heart. Lane changes there are strictly the result of the kindness of strangers (letting you move over without smashing into you, or chickening out, depending upon your point of view). Completely different set of rules between city driving and highway driving.

Yeah, the wannabe Mario Andretti's out there have me thinking either how to box them in or how to keep away from them. It can get real scary when you see them cut over into a space not much longer than their car, leaving absolutely no room for error by any of the adjacent vehicles. When they start pulling stunts like that, I move to keep myself out of the equation that's going to result in..., well, we've all seen those results.

I agree, putting on your turn signal does not give you right-of-way. Normally, I'll yield to anyone giving me fair warning they need to move over. It's just polite. We are all trying to get somewhere safely. I just wish more people would show the same consideration I show to others (and what the law requires).

cmyX6go will become famous soon enough
There's also city driving blinker etiquette. You wait until you see a break in the lane you want to go to. Put on your blinker when you know you can go, blink three times, done. If you use your blinker as a May I, everyone speeds up....You're not getting in front of me...

Mark, I was wondering if you would catch that...I coulda picked on
any number of states that the Right Coast intelligentsia feel are
pioneer/low tech places, ("them", not me!), but I thought that since
you were the Thread Father, I'd pick on Idaho.

I could have just used out of towner, but ya'll got my point.

I've been to ID several times and enjoyed every minute of our
m'cycle rides through the state.

It is a long way from "there" to the Cross Bronx expressway, however...
