PersonaNonGrata is on a distinguished road
This is unbelievable and while it's not the first time there has been a mass killing on a university or school campus, it is still surreal. For those who question why there was a two hour delay from the first shooting to the next, do you think it would have been reasonable for police to think "two were shot and killed here in the dorm so there's going to be more shooting across campus later"? That would have been a bit of a stretch, particularly without further information to indicate that another shooting would occur. Also, there is always the risk that when you make that leap that you might cause more problems in making that assumption. I'm not justifying it because I don't know the details, none of us do, but it's something to consider before the police are criticized. Bottom line: We all need to pray for the survivors and the families and wait for the story to be told as the investigation continues. No matter what, blaming the police or the university is misplaced The only one or thing to blame is the shooter.

On that note, it isn't guns that are to blame and the accessibility of them is not the cause of this mass murder. It's the man who pulled the trigger. Someone like him who may have taken the time to chain exit doors to prevent victims from escaping, had a two hour "cooling off period" and instead of stopping or killing himself instead escalated his violence, and someone who, to be really morbid, was a very efficient shooter is someone who was very determined and no gun control law or just about anything would have stopped him. It's time to stop blaming inanimate objects for the evil deeds of people.
