I want one. Right now I have a 2004 SAAB 9-3 Convertible, and while it is fine for now, it is continually affected with electic gremlins and the paint is not in great shape for some odd reason. My buddy just picked up a few months ago a silver 2006 Boxster S, which is really nice. He said the normal version just didn't have enough punch, so he opted for an S. For me, the normal will be fine. So I was thinking in about a year I'd pick up a demo/slightly used '06/'07 Boxster, maybe. It's a great driving car, but I frequently drive the Saab into the city, where it will get beat up some, so I don't know. The Saab only has 13k mi on it.
I think if you try to keep it as dry as you can, and treat the softtop with cleaners and preservers it will be fine, but don't expect it to be in garage queen condition. I go to SD a lot, isn't there a Porsche dealer in Carlsbad?
Good luck
