I have an idea, how about California also institute a law that you can't cross the street, regardless of circumstances, unless you are:
A) In the crosswalk
B) Given the "Walk" sign on the stoplight.

Just kidding, the law exists... And it's enforced...

And YES, I have been given a ticket for J Walking. It was about $120. What a bunch of Fooking morons, that the best thing LAPD has to do with it's time is giving me a ticket for crossing the street against the light.

I'm from New York for crying out loud.

And we won't rehash the thread about California seizing property taxes at 1984 values besides the states inability to afford it's budget

Or the time that the ACLU prevented street maintenance from cleaning SKID ROW by power washing it, to try to clean up the piss, feces, needles, so the environment there wasn't a further breeding ground for Staff Infections, disease, Hep C, etc...

Hmmmm I wonder what would happen
if people decided to just obey the law of
common sense?

Unfortunately the only thing people really
care about is themselves. Thats why they eat,
drink ,read the newspaper, pick their toes, and their
nose, use their computer, text message, anything beside
keep their eyes on the road. Hence they have
accidents and are a danger to other drivers.

I agree that this like so many other laws seem stupid.
However it also seems stupid that people can't use
common sense about driving.

There was a time when there were no traffic signals.
Just imagine how it was. Then someone came along
invented the traffic signal. I can here the complaint's
now. "THERE TAKING AWAY MY RIGHTS". This is just
dumb.

It seems to me that if legislators are serious about
cell phone laws they should give the pentality some teeth.
That will get some attention.......

In a city nearby i guess they were having parking problems
or a lack of revenue so they decided to bump up the cost of
parking tickets from $30.00 to $70.00 on the meters.
Some hollered unfair, unfair to which i politely responded
that there's a parking less than 100 feet away and it's free.

Texting while driving isn't the brightest thing... but I'll be the first to admit to doing it... in a snowstorm... while speeding... I wish there was a way to read SMS through the Bluetooth or iDrive. Not even write them! I would just call the sender back...
