Brand is only part of the issue, components and frame are a big consideration.

I would try to get a full Ultega bike with a carbon front fork and Alum frame. The Treks look nice but Cannonadale is now offering quite a few bike at that price point. Here is a Canondale with fiber with 105's at under $2,000, you can do better than the price listed.

Cannondale Six Carbon 6 - roysbikes.com

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look at the Cannondales too. As with a car I'll have to take a few test rides before I decide for sure. I noticed the Six Carbon 6 has a carbon fiber frame and the price point isn't that bad either.

Thanks a lot!

I now have over 100 miles on the new Bike and really love it.

It rides softer and yes handles better.

Carbon bikes are worth the extra money.

Thanks for the advice.

Already have a Speed Deck Speo and a carbon fiber water basket and a nice site poach to store a spare tube and co2 pump.

I also had to get new team bike outfit.

Yes I would say over $500 on Mods.

Flight Deck speedometer? And please tell me you have a water bottle cage, and not a basket.

Yes Flight Deck, I don't understand why its not more popular, it shows gear position, rpm and the buttons are built in.

Yes a carbon fiber cage for $50 plus, sure seems like a rip off.

Photo's yes in a few days when I am out on the eastern end of Long Island for the weekend.
