IPhones should not have any cases whatsoever.
I used one back in 2007 and threw it after 2 months. Made my iPhone linty all the time. Beside cases are never good for ventilation specially those tight fitting ones. Its a PDA.

I've had a case since the beginning
and never had a heat problem ever
or a lint problem, or a dust problem.
Dropped it on the concrete yesterday
and everything is fine. Without it
It might have been curtains.

I just put this one on yesterday for
a change. Midnight blue or something.

I believe there are some truth to this controversy...all phones run hot, especially phones that have fast processors like the iPhones. However, if you use a case, you inhibit the ventilation of the phone. Probably, someone used a brown leather case for his white iPhone, iPhone gets warm and transfers the dye to the back of the white iPhone.

Thus, I stand by my original statement...get a black iPhone. No matter what, no discoloration issue.

By the way, SG doesn't use his iPhone enough to get it HAWT!
