I was becoming complacent with driving all the time, but after not really going anywhere in a month being laid up with my herniated discs/pinched nerves when I go driving now it feels great, and I realized how much I miss driving fast with my ipod blaring good ol death metal real loud!

But you can't beat the price and comfort of a good train ride for some trips... LOTS of leg room with numerous foot rests/leg supports, food service carts, etc. If a rental service would meet you at the stop there would be no better option IMO.

I've been trying to test drive a VW Golf TDI; I really, really like the X3 but if my father really wants it back after I graduate, I don't see why not. The X3 is too thirsty in the city (20 US mpg or 12l /100km is what I'm seeing) for my fuel consumption standards. Kinda worried that my mountain bike won't fit inside the Golf though. However from an accounting/practicality standpoint, the Golf TDI makes a lot of sense, if a bit less exciting than the X3.

I guess I'll do the drive down to SC if the weather works out well (at this point, it isn't looking good ). If not, then I'll prob just spend spring break painting the house and writing up cover letters.

MM, Wander down to your local Kawa/Honda/Suzuk/Yama dlr and swing your
leg over a couple of sleds: m'cycles are great fun, make anyone a better driver,
and life is short enough as it is. Highly rec'd it.

Meanwhile, make that run to SC for a change of pace/scenery and a real "break", imo.

HAHAHA...wow...thats a first

I don't know. Y'all think 15 hours of driving, 1300km (that's 800 miles) in 4 days is worth it? This isn't a week trip.......its half a week, driving alone. I will be tired, don't have that kind of energy. Then again, I don't have much to do here; I kinda want out. I can't stand the DC area.

I spruced up the X3 today. Washed the outside, changed the spark plugs which gave it some more *zing* , and on Weds I refitted the parking lights. I need to detail the interior, but that's for Monday.







^X3 being quite thirsty just around town. Guess that's what the 325i is for. The road grit was pretty bad this year; when I tried to remove the rear licence plate to clean under it, the screw simply snapped off, and the rust was ridiculous. Despite this amount of mileage, still runs like new. Just wish I had a smaller car.
