Please explain how an OS update that enables multi-tasking and printing (which should have been included in the original device) has anything whatsoever to do with whether or not an iPad has any worth. By that logic, ANY device that has its OS upgraded is now deemed worthwhile?

Simple logic will tell you that OS updates allows a device to do more than it did before.

Even the best devices (Windows PCS) if that's your thing, when they first come out and as they progress in development don't do everything people want them to do and OS updates can provide additional needed functions.

So the answer to your statement is true. "By that logic, ANY device that has its OS upgraded is now deemed worthwhile would be correct. For those who needed the new features that the OS update provided then it indeed would be worthwhile and even worth buying.

But to help you better understand it's use why not check out post #201. I'm sure Owen Cain's family can tell you what it's worth.

I can sympathize with your feelings though. Where we differ is that while I have no need for Windows PC hardware and it's OS upgrades I understand that others may have that need and consider it worthwhile. so I don't bother arguing about the pros and cons of their needs no matter how many upgrades they've needed or will need. I just respect their need to make the decision regarding what is or isn't worthwhile. And of course I don't require them to explain their need.....

You sure do have some fuzzy logic running around your head.

You stated that because the IOS was upgraded, that it's proof that the device is worthwhile.

There is no correlation between the two. And your response did nothing to support your statement. Can you please explain your statement without changing the topic?

An OS update that enables multi-tasking allows voice over and transport controls to be used via WIFI at the same time from a remote studio.

Ok, I see where the conversation is now.

Here's what I have to offer.....

Remember "windows vista" UPGRADE FLOP!!!!!! I got that POS and it was so much worse then before. I hate almost everything about Vista. Jack my PC all up.

I'm by no means the dude at the coffee shop with the thick black frame glasses typing away on his apple lap top, sipping a $6 cappa-frappa-what, just to look cool.

But I really can't think of much to complain about with apple products.(minus it can't run Flash player, but there is a reason for that so....) The user friendly lay out of apple is second to none. Hands down no contest.

No need to be insulting bro. The only fuzzy logic is your inability to understand the purpose of the iPad. I addressed the OS upgrade in my post but if your having difficulty understanding then i'm happy to end the conversation without further explanation. Perhaps someone else can help
you.

Have a good day sir

what is the purpose of the ipad? Is the ipad a worthless device since barry does NOT have one? Along the same line of logic if there are very good purposes, why do you not have one or why haven't you made the justification to get one?

Hey, I found a purpose for the iPad! It frees up my Lenovo notebook for me to use.

My wife received one as a gift from one of her friends. She's now happily reading her e-books/newspaper and playing games and occasionally checking her email. Now I don't have to fight with her to use the Lenovo notebook at home. She still prefers to use a real keyboard (notebook or her BB Torch) when it comes to doing any typing. She hates how the iPad spins and wobbles around on a table because it's all curvy on the bottom. She also threatened to throw it out the window one night because it wouldn't stay powered off. It just kept booting up by itself.

So when I asked her if she liked it she said "it's nice...but I wouldn't pay more than $150 for one, I certainly wouldn't fork out $600 for it." She's now talking about selling the iPad when the BB Playbook comes out.
