The way I did it was to highlight all the text I had written in my new email and copy it, go to photos, select send photo, and then paste in my message. Then return to email and discard the now-useless draft.

Just seems non-user-friendly. I can image the Apple designers originally planning out that all their customers would take pictures and send them out to all their contacts, from the camera roll, but that nobody with an iPhone would ever respond to someone else's message. In a way, they are saying that iPhone users start things, but don't need to follow. There's a message there.

Thats one way to do it. But the easier way is compose your email, leave it as is (it will still be there when you return) then go to photos or camera roll, find the picture you want, touch and hold until the copy button pops up. Copy it. Then return to the e mail, and paste it where you want it no need to throw out an e-mail. Actually the process is really quick. I have no problem responding to anyones e-mail or text message by pasting photos. In fact I've been texting and e-mailing all morning doing it this way.

How To Restore, Restart, Or Reset Your iPad | TCGeeks
Thanks, similar to what I found, and there is also a suggestion to close all apps that stay running in the background after each use. Some report that helps, others not.

So according to TCGeeks, the solution to iPad applications randomly closing (after turning it on and off, and then doing a hardware reset) is to wipe it and return it to factory ship condition, followed by reinstalling all applications and restoring all data? Somehow that sounds just so much like, dare I say it, a PC.

I struggled through Windows ME years ago, and even then I don't remember browsers randomly turning themselves off and losing data.

What about the promise of a happy world inside a closed system, Quick? Isn't this thing supposed to be less trouble than a PC?

Here is hoping that the next OS upgrade fixes it.

But if you copy and paste the email text, then when the application self-reboots and you lose all your data, you still have it on the clipboard for when you start over. That is mixing up the iPhone with the current iPad problems, but it was those problems that caused me to start copying text regularly, so I guess I carried that practice over to the iPhone.

I think most owners are still hoping IOS 5.1 fixes it, along with the excessive power use issue on some iPhone 4/4S models. 5.01 was supposed to sort the latter out and failed miserably.
Thanks for your comments. I am new to IOS, so it all helps. Appreciate it.
