Did you see how to fix it? Duct tape? ![]() I would be shocked if there wasn't a recall. When Consumer Reports writes an article about how your product can't be recommended it's time to listen...

"When Consumer Reports writes an article about how your product can't be recommended it's time to listen..." I beg to differ
As one reader put it; CR is great for appliances, and they're good at tracking overall customer service complaints (I think in fact they're better than CNET and other tech press on that last item). But their staff expertise is heavily weighted toward vehicles and other durable goods. I would never buy a computer based on the feature comparisons at consumer reports - but I would pay attention to the customer service ratings they give computer companies. You just have to know how to use these journals. Apple has an ally; Electromagnetic engineer says Consumer Reports iPhone 4 study flawed | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews

I thought a mobile phone was an appliance.

Honestly I wouldn't depend on consumer reports recommendations
for much of anything including cell phones. Their recent review of dishwashers was less than adequate and included only mid range products. They do the same thing for some electronic gear including high end gear which they never review.

I agree, Consumer Reports should stick to rating refrigerators.
In their defence however I can understand how they made the mistake of trying to rate the iPhone. Refrigerators and iPhones have much in common: 1) They both are good at being cool 2) They both come in white 3) They both have a smooth rounded surfaces 4) You can't change the battery in either one 5) Neither is good at making phone calls

1) Refrigerators store cold beer. iPhones don't.
