Couple of new pics of sunrise this morning...
The first one was taken in AUTO mode, and the second was taken in scene mode, "sunset".

UPDATE:
I had my official "Moment of Truth" this weekend with the new camera! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! My old Canon PowerShot SD 1100 IS ![]() My brand new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 ![]() My old Canon PowerShot SD 1100 IS ![]() My brand new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 ![]() ![]() The pictures were shot it the Intelligent Auto mode because I still haven't had time to read the manual and play around with the different settings. I'll post more pictures once I discover which setting works best in my settings; although I do not know how they could get any better!

Night and day difference, literally and figuratively. All settings considered equal, the difference is astonishing. I'm shopping for a new P&S and I'm zooming in on Lumix. I won't go very elaborate as I am just looking for a quick snapper. If I want a fast lens and manual controls I'll bust out my dSLR rig.
Why am I craving a nice juicy steak now?

Besides the white eyeball, I am very impressed with the flash - normally it blacks out everything that is out of it's range... not the LX5!

Very good pics, Mich!
And the diff is A-Z... that cow's red eye is easily fixable in even the simplest of photo programs. "Cow eye", lol! There should be a red eye reduction setting on the flash program, though it is never fool proof. My son is in the hunt for a new cam, so I will have to check that Panny out and rec'd it to him. No xpert, but good looking cows, and your sis is a cutie, too. GL, mD |

LOL Thanks, mD!
I've used Picasa in the past to fix red eyes, and it works amazingly great with human eyes. I've always had trouble with animals though... I guess because they aren't really "red." I'm sure the new Panny has a red eye reduction setting... I just need to ![]() Thanks for the compliments on my sister and the bovines.

Nice cow and cow girl.
Pushing the ISO to 800 and the larger apeture sure made a difference. The SD1100 pics were only at ISO 250. The exposure settings were more than 2 stops higher with your Lumix (ie. your SD1100 pics were 2 stops underexposed). That's the crap shoot of using Auto. I know it's not possible but it would have been interesting to compare pics at the same exposure.
