![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Considered getting this mint 1967 Shelby Cobra Replica for only $20K ![]() ![]() ![]() Also this 1970 Mustang Mach 1 but they wanted insane money - more than the Cobra above! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 10-19-2010 at 10:39 PM. |

I'm going to leave it a plain GT500 (no badges) but may convert the looks to the KR with badges. Haven't decided yet. Real Shelby owners might be mad at me for being a poser!
![]() BTW ... no Eleanor for me thank you. ![]() Might go only one color but all the stock Shelby color combos look great to me. I love this blue ![]() ![]() This scheme is almost exactly what I'm considering. The silver is like a hyper silver. Check out the video. Love how the silver glows and even the grabber blue too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Video: YouTube - 67 Silver GT350.MOV Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 10-19-2010 at 09:24 PM. |

Yeah that Eleanor paint schem IS nice. When I started looking for something I wanted to make a BOSS 302 clone from a 69-70 fastback.
However, trying to get ANY year classic mustang fastback (64-73) for reasonable money is very hard. Especially 67-68s. Then I lucked out on this deal on the 68. I actually got it for less than 1/2 the price of the yellow Cobra above. ![]() ![]() Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 10-19-2010 at 10:17 PM. |

Damn, all 3 of those are beautiful cars.... Looks like you have a new project/labor of love! And the 68 fastback will be a fun car to work on as long as you have the time to put towards it. What engine is in it now? 289?

I wanted a driver, which this is - it runs and drives now. There were many REAL project cars out there but was dissasembled completely. This car is almost totally assembled. Lots of little bolt-ons but nothing crazy. I wish I was a mechanic, body, and paint guy all together. Would save me more money! Overall I THINK this is a fairly easy project. I'm going to concentrate the most money and time to the body. Clean up the interior real good. Get a real good paint job that lasts. This car doesn't have layers and layers of paint - all primed and just needs massaging. I'm a Pontiac man so I have to research Mustangs and Shelbys. I'm not trying to build a show car but I do want to do a nice job. ![]() Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 10-19-2010 at 10:33 PM. |

Cool deal, I'm gonna try my hands at body and paint with my old E36 I'm getting back. I have very little experience but enough knowledge to feel comfortable with it. Besides, most of the dented panels are bolt on anyways.

Mine was a '66 coupe, 289. Rebuilt all the mechanicals, kept it stock except for a mild cam, bored over as little as I could. Did the engine and all ancillaries, automatic transmission, suspension, brakes, diff, and so on. Body was good enough to drive, but I never got it to show condition. Sold it before they started to really appreciate in value. My uncle had a very nice '69 Boss 351 with the shaker hood scoop and rear window slats. I have always liked Mustangs, the earlier the better. Personally, I would look for one that is truer to stock. Edit: '69 Mach 1. It was a 351. Boss 351 was later. What was I thinking.
