I have played the Amex My Wish game and there are people out there who have rooms full of computers bombarding the site. That's what I figure. A friend has "won" two things but they were rather undesirable things like vases and plush toys. I clicked madly at 3:00 EST for the plasma and nada. I even clicked two minutes early and the message was that the server was too busy.

As for the Vespa, I agree that the guy must be banking on winning one and then ripping Juan for a Benji. My take on scooters? They are dangerous. They're fine to ride around your neighborhood but on the streets and for commuting it's downright deadly. Too small to see and not enough power to get you out of trouble. Sometimes twisting your wrist is safer than grabbing the brake.

Juan, your decision sounds pretty solid

As far as the Amex deal goes, can someone explain it to me. Sounds intriguing.

Vespas are like fat chicks.. you can ride them but you should do it in the dark so nobody will see you.. in the word of the wise sage Phester, it is truly gay..

I told my wife that a couple of guys here had said a Vespa was gay. Her response? "It IS gay!" lol

So.... no Vespa.

Whats up with this whole AMEX deal. You guys go an e-mail with these special products? You guys have to logon to the website at a specific time and grab it?

Interesting marketing ploy if I do say so myself...

i tried all 3 times yesterday for the plasma, but no luck. I tried each time exactly at 12p, 3p, and 7p. I'll try again for the Range Rover, as the other items weren't interesting enough for me.

Personally, I want to know if this is a scam or not. Anyone know of someone who actually got one of the high-priced items?
